Traditional races are exciting, but most runners are never truly in the hunt to win. TruRace makes race day feel more meaningful by matching athletes against others at a similar level, then giving every runner a leaderboard, rivals, and a race they can actually win.

TruRace accounts are always free. During our 2026 launch season, Race Pass access is complimentary at participating events. Future events may require a Race Pass or membership, or access may be provided by the race or one of its sponsors. Those payments buy competition access, matching, scoring, verification, and leaderboard participation.
This is not a jackpot model. Paid memberships start at $10/month and can support published cash opportunities up to $100 in Pace or $500 in a heat for eligible verified winners.

Equalizer heats
Same race. Fairer bragging rights.
Equalizer heats let runners of different ability levels compete together in the same event. TruRace locks each runner's expected time, uses the official race result for the actual finish, and ranks the group with an adjusted handicap score.
Equalizer can be used in TruRace Heat or Crew competition. Verified competitions that meet the published eligibility rules can earn prizes and leaderboard points; social or unverified groups can still race without prize eligibility.

Is TruRace putting on its own races?
No. TruRace is a competition layer built on top of existing races. You register for the underlying race, then choose a TruRace competition inside it: Pace, TruRace Heat, or Crew.
Who is this for?
Runners at any level who want a more meaningful shot at competing to win, not just participating in a huge field where only the fastest few are ever in the hunt. TruRace is for people who want rivals, standings, rematches, recognition, and a leaderboard they can climb.
What am I paying for?
You are paying for structured competition: race access, matching, scoring, verification, standings, and a winnable format. Any prize or reward follows the published rules and verified race result; it is not the product you are buying and it is not a jackpot.
Is this just a participation trophy?
No. TruRace does not make everyone a winner. A Pace runner has to beat a locked performance target; heat and Crew runners have to beat the other competitors in their group.
Why does TruRace competition matter?
A clear Pace target or direct matchup creates a sharper reason to train, pace well, stay mentally engaged, and push through the uncomfortable parts of a race. The win is not guaranteed, but the chase becomes real.
How big are the heats?
Prize-eligible TruRace and Crew heats are designed for 3 to 10 runners. Straight runners are matched by ability when possible; if a suitable Straight field cannot be formed, TruRace can use an Equalizer instead.
Can different ability levels race together?
Yes. Equalizer competition lets runners of different ability levels race together using performance relative to a locked expectation. Verified TruRace and Crew Equalizers can be prize eligible when they meet the published field-size and verification rules.
Where is TruRace available?
TruRace expands based on runner demand, organizer conversations, and the races where matched heats can operate responsibly. Early members help shape the first TruRace racing league for runners at every level.
Is this gambling?
No. TruRace does not allow wagering, betting, staking, or games of chance. You are not buying a chance at a jackpot; you are signing up for a race you can win through actual running performance, verified results, and clear competition rules.
How do Race Credits work?
Paid members receive automatic Race Credit progress and can add more through qualifying activity. Every 100 progress points unlocks 1 whole Race Credit, which can unlock a cash-prize Award Tier for an eligible race. Pace cash is capped at $100; heat cash is capped at $500.
Can training buy leaderboard points?
No. Race Credits cannot be redeemed for leaderboard points. Training can add a small automatic consistency bonus to leaderboard scoring, but members cannot spend Race Credits to buy points.
Do I need a membership?
You can always create a free profile. Competition at an event may require a Race Pass, paid membership, or sponsored access. Paid memberships start at $10/month, remove the per-race activation fee at partner races, build Race Credits, and include published cash opportunities up to $100 in Pace or $500 in heats for eligible verified winners.
