For race organizers

Add matched competition to your race without changing the event itself.

TruRace is an independent competition layer for existing races. We help create more balanced competition for participating runners while keeping the underlying event format, timing, registration, and awards intact.

Runners celebrating together at a busy race event

More competitive depth

Give runners another reason to choose your event again.

Adds a new layer of engagement

TruRace gives runners something extra to care about inside the event: matched competition, prize-building goals, meaningful head-to-head racing, and more reasons to come back.

Works on top of your existing race

We are not asking you to redesign your event, change your distances, or replace your timing system. TruRace is designed to layer onto races that already exist.

Helps more runners feel competitive

Most runners are not racing for the overall win. TruRace creates more meaningful competition by matching participants against athletes closer to their level.

How TruRace fits into your event

  • Runners join TruRace separately from the official race registration.
  • TruRace groups participating runners into small matched heats based on recent performance.
  • Paid members can build Prize Value through verified running and choose when eligible to race for a Current Prize.
  • Your race still runs as your race normally would.
  • After the event, TruRace uses official results to score heats, update leaderboards, and determine any TruRace prizes.

What TruRace can add

  • Create heats of similarly matched runners
  • Promote your race to TruRace members
  • Encourage signups and repeat participation
  • Bring additional race-day energy and competition
  • Recognize more runners beyond the overall podium
  • Operate a booth or check-in table if approved
  • Use official results to score TruRace heats
  • Award TruRace prizes separately from your race awards

What We Need From Organizers

Ideally, TruRace needs:

  • Permission to list your race on TruRace.
  • Permission to use your race name, date, distance, and public event information.
  • Access to official results after the race.
  • Approval to communicate that TruRace participants may compete at your event.
  • Basic coordination on branding, communication boundaries, and race-day expectations.
  • Any exhibitor, sponsor, vendor, insurance, or site requirements you need us to follow.

Optional but helpful:

  • Permission to use approved race photos or logos
  • Permission to mention the race in TruRace emails or social posts
  • A race-day contact person
  • Early access to bib assignments or participant lists, if available
  • A booth or tent location near packet pickup, the finish area, or the vendor area

What Organizers Do Not Need To Take On

TruRace does not replace your race, timing company, registration system, awards, waivers, insurance, or race operations.

  • No need to change your timing setup.
  • No need to change your course, distances, or race-day format.
  • No need to manage TruRace memberships, heat logic, scoring, disputes, or payouts.
  • No need to change your awards, waivers, insurance, registration system, or race operations.
  • No need to add a new awards ceremony unless both sides want it.

TruRace handles:

  • TruRace participant accounts
  • Seed times and heat assignments
  • Prize Value eligibility
  • TruRace scoring and leaderboard points
  • TruRace prize payouts
  • TruRace participant support
  • TruRace-specific disputes

Your official race results remain your official results. TruRace only uses those results to score TruRace competitions.

Race-Day Operations

If approved by the organizer, TruRace can show up as a small race-day presence that supports participating runners without taking over event operations.

  • Answer runner questions
  • Help participants join heats
  • Verify bib numbers
  • Hand out approved materials
  • Promote leaderboard participation
  • Explain prize eligibility, Current Prize activation, and Event Prize Boosts
  • Capture limited finish-line video or photos for verification, if permitted

Operational Details

Race-Day Setup

Depending on organizer approval, TruRace may attend with a small booth, tent, signage, check-in table, or promotional setup. We follow organizer instructions for setup location, timing, parking, conduct, and breakdown.

Insurance and Liability

TruRace can work with organizers on reasonable insurance, vendor, exhibitor, and additional insured requirements. TruRace participants still complete the official race registration, waiver, safety rules, and event policies.

Timing and Results

TruRace prefers official chip-timed results when available. We can work from final public results and do not need to interfere with the timing company or official race scoring.

Prizes

Any TruRace prizes are separate from organizer awards unless otherwise agreed. TruRace does not allow wagering, betting, staking, or games of chance.

Why Organizers Like It

TruRace is aimed at a problem many events already have: most runners are not competing for an overall podium spot, but they still want a strong competitive experience.

By matching participating runners against athletes closer to their level, TruRace can create more excitement, more conversation, and more reasons for runners to train, stay engaged, invite friends, and return across multiple races.

  • More runner engagement
  • More social sharing
  • More repeat participation
  • More training momentum before race day
  • More friendly competition
  • More reasons for runners to recruit friends
  • More excitement beyond the front of the pack

What makes a strong pilot fit

  • Races where there is enough depth to create several balanced heats.
  • Organizers open to something new that adds participant excitement without disrupting the core event.
  • Events that want stronger repeat engagement, differentiation, or a fresh competitive angle.

Simple version

TruRace brings extra competition to your race without taking over your race.

  • You run the race.
  • You keep your official results.
  • You keep your awards.
  • You keep your operations.

TruRace handles its own heats, members, leaderboards, prizes, and participant support.

Interested in exploring a pilot?

We are looking for early conversations with race organizers who are open to a thoughtful, low-disruption competitive layer that could make their event more engaging for more runners before, during, and after race day.
