Competition Rules

These rules explain how TruRace competitions, heat assignments, result verification, prize eligibility, and fairness standards work.

1. Skill-Based Competition

All TruRace competitions are based on athletic performance measured through official race results or other verified performance data accepted by TruRace.

There is no element of chance in determining competition outcomes.

2. Heat Formation and Grouping

Participants may be grouped into heats, divisions, or leaderboard bands based on prior race performance, estimated finish times, submitted results, race distance, historical data, or other performance indicators chosen by TruRace.

Matching is designed to improve competitiveness and fairness, not to guarantee identical ability or identical race-day conditions.

3. Determination of Winners

Winners are determined by verified performance relative to the participant’s assigned heat, division, or leaderboard criteria.

TruRace may rely on official race results, timing providers, organizer confirmation, submitted evidence, and other verification methods it considers appropriate.

4. Prize Eligibility

Prize eligibility may depend on membership tier, available prize-heat access, confirmed participation, verified results, completion of claim requirements, and compliance with these rules and the Terms of Service.

Participants do not contribute directly to a prize pool tied to a specific heat.

5. No Entry Fee for a Specific Prize Competition

TruRace membership does not constitute payment for entry into a specific winner-take-all pot, prize pool, or single contest.

Membership provides access to the TruRace platform and its services, which may include eligibility for certain skill-based competitions.

6. Result Verification and Seed Integrity

TruRace may request additional proof of performance, verify seed times, review athlete history, or reject submitted information that appears incomplete, outdated, misleading, or manipulated.

False seed data, manipulated history, or intentionally misleading submissions may result in reassignment, disqualification, suspension, or permanent removal.

7. Disqualification and Integrity Enforcement

Participants may be disqualified for inaccurate or fraudulent results, identity misrepresentation, course cutting, prohibited assistance, collusion, unsportsmanlike conduct, or any attempt to manipulate competition outcomes.

8. Ties, Edge Cases, and Administrative Decisions

TruRace reserves the right to establish tie-breaking procedures and to resolve unusual circumstances such as missing data, timing errors, race cancellations, course changes, participant withdrawals, or incomplete verification.

9. Prize Claims and Payout Readiness

Winners may be required to claim prizes within a stated period, confirm identity, complete payment onboarding, and submit tax documentation when applicable.

Unclaimed or unverified prizes may be forfeited according to TruRace policies.

10. Changes to Competition Format

TruRace reserves the right to modify heat assignments, eligibility requirements, leaderboard formats, prize structures, competition procedures, and related platform rules as needed to preserve fairness, legality, integrity, and operational viability.

11. Participation Waiver Summary

Participation in any race or performance activity connected to TruRace is voluntary. Athletes are responsible for their own health, training, race readiness, and compliance with the underlying event’s rules and waivers.

TruRace does not control the underlying race environment and is not responsible for race operations, injuries, medical issues, venue conditions, travel issues, or actions of third-party organizers.

12. Independent Platform and Race Affiliation

TruRace is an independent competition platform and is not a race organizer, timing company, registration provider, or official representative of any underlying race unless TruRace expressly states that relationship.

Race names, race categories, locations, or runner suggestions may appear so runners can express interest in where TruRace should seek approval. That does not mean TruRace is affiliated with, sponsored by, endorsed by, or approved by that race or organizer.

Participants must register separately with the underlying race organizer and comply with that organizer's rules, waivers, fees, deadlines, and policies.
